While torrid heat waves continue to prevail in most part of India, the people of Bengaluru are heaving a huge sigh of relief with the onset of pre-monsoon. However, the Bengaluru natives have to tackle with a strange snowfall. The recent rainfall has only added to the problems of those residing in the vicinity of the city’s lakes. The heavy rains that lashed Bengaluru recently have resulted in Varthur Lake foaming once again. With toxic foam spilling over to the roads, commuters had a tough time. Locals have also complained about the unbearable stink coming from the froth. “Can’t walk as toxic foam settles on the skin, can’t drive as it settles on a windscreen. The government seems to have no solution to this problem,” a resident told. The pictures and videos of the froth coming on to the roads have been posted by the locals on social media, with many criticizing the civic bodies for their negligence and disorder.
