Close to six years after retiring from the international cricket, the former captain Rahul Dravid becomes the latest addition to the famous cricketers-turned coaches list. Rahul Dravid, who is serving as Team India A coach seems the front-runner to grab the Team India’s coach in all three formats. As the present coach Anil Kumble’s term is coming to end, the BCCI has opened invitations for the new coach’s post.
But, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting opines that Rahul Dravid would be the best man to coach the Indian team as he has vast experience behind him. I don’t think BCCI will find many better candidates than someone like Dravid. If he’s interested in doing the job, he will do a good job. He’s got a lot of knowledge, is very experienced and understands all three formats,” Ponting said. It has to be seen whether Rahul Dravid is ready to take up the head coach role or not.
