Ever since the UAE-based Indian businessman announced to spend a whopping amount of Rs. 1,000 crore to produce India’s biggest ever motion picture, ‘The Mahabharata,’ most of the actors were keen to be a part of this humongous project. Even Prabhas has openly admitted that he would be happy to bag even a small in the movie. Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal is playing the lead role of Bheema, while the BigB Amitabh Bachan plays the grand old man Bheesma in the movie. While rest of the cast are yet to be finalized, Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna seems to have been approached by the director VA Shrikumar Menon for the role of Karna in the movie and the actor has given an immediate nod.
The movie is expected to be produced in two parts, and the shoot may begin in September 2018, while the film is expected to release in early 2020. The film will be shot in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and dubbed in major Indian and foreign languages. After the sensational success of Baahubali franchise, many filmmakers have announced lavish budget period, historical and mythological dramas. It has to be seen whether they can actually meet the records set by Baahubali or even surpass them.
