Lalit Modi, the brain behind the emergence of Cricket’s richest league IPL (Indian Premier League) has bid adieu to the game. He resigned as President of the Nagaur District Association, bringing an end to his presence in the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), which was banned by the BCCI for involving in the spot fixing scandal.
The 50-year old Modi, was living in exile in London ever since he was charged with money laundering, sent his resignation to both the RCA as well as BCCI CEO Rahul Johri. “I feel that the time is now ripe to pass on the baton to the next generation. Thus, today I want to bid goodbye to cricket administration for now,” Lalit Modi wrote in his resignation letter.
